Low-calorie flavour enhancers: what to check
A nutrition label is most useful when you read it alongside the amount you use. A pinch of spice, a spoonful of sauce and a large pour are different portions.
Compare the amount you actually use
Check whether the label gives values per 100g or per serving, then compare that with your portion. Ingredients and quantities vary, so a name like hot sauce or spice blend does not tell you the full story.
If you are choosing what to add to your food, flavour matters too. Pick one you enjoy and use enough to season the food to your taste.

Ideas to try
Dried herbs
Try oregano, thyme or mixed herbs. Use the label for nutrition information and measure the amount if your tracking needs that detail.
Spices and blends
Paprika, pepper, chilli and blends offer different flavours. Check the ingredients for salt, sugar and allergens rather than judging by the name.
Sauces and dressings
Look at both the serving size and the nutrition values. The amount you pour may differ from the serving used on the bottle.
Pranasalt
Each sachet contains roughly 1g of the blend and about 0.2 kcal. It contains salt, so account for it alongside the salt already in your meal.
